India has made the decision to join the Artemis Accords, which bring together nations with comparable objectives in civil space exploration. NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have decided to launch a combined trip to the International Space Station in 2024, according to a statement from the White House on Thursday.
A senior administration official stated that we would be able to announce that India has signed the Artemis Accords, which advance a shared vision for space exploration for the benefit of all parties, hours before the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden in the Oval Office.
The Artemis Accords are a set of non-binding rules for civil space study and use in the twenty-first century. The 1967 Outer Space Treaty (OST) is what they are based on. The United States is leading a project to send people back to the moon by 2025. The goal is to eventually send people to Mars and other places. The source said that NASA and ISRO are working together this year to make a plan for how they can work together on human spaceflight.
Additionally, according to the person who spoke on the condition of anonymity, NASA and ISRO have decided to launch a collaborative expedition to the International Space Station in 2024. To create a semiconductor ecosystem that encourages supply chain diversification, US companies are collaborating with Indian businesses.
