Gaza hospitals, built to be places of healing, have been transformed into battlegrounds by Israel's ground and air Strikes. Hospitals like al-Awda Hospital, Kamal Adwan are under siege and partially functioning. They are hardly able to provide medical attention to the casualties and wounded civilians. With low supplies, medical staff and patients are enduring intense bombardment by Israeli forces.
Hospitals At War
Israeli troops previously stormed hospitals, which are till date still trying to recuperate. The supplies and staff within the hospitals are very basic. Staff at Al-Awda Hospital are provided with just one meal per day. According to the director, Mohammed Salha, it is like living hell, "It's reliving the nightmares of last year, but worse." While this hospitals is afforded special protections under the law of nations. Israel continues to bombard several others openly, such as Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza, where Israel says a Hamas command center is based.

The Kamal Adwan Hospital, a vital health center in northern Gaza, was severely destroyed as Israeli shells hit the facility last week. Fire destroyed medical supplies, damaged the dialysis unit and inflicted injuries on four medics. Their is shortage of power and water as well because of continued shelling. Generators failure resulted in the death of two children. which puts into sharp perspective the tremendous challenges faced by medical facilities in northern Gaza. Hossam Abu Safiya who is hospital's director, expressed the emotional toll, stating "They burned our hearts. They killed my son."
Civilian Life Under Threat As Hospitals Become War Fronts
Under this intensified fighting, the ones trying to reach the hospital my lead to deaths because of bombardment and strikes from israel. Tremendous challenges are faced by medical facilities in northern Gaza. The humanitarian situation is deteriorating day by day in the strip.
