A tragic incident in São Luís, northeastern Brazil, has claimed the life of 26-year-old Renata Rebeca Negrão Saldanha dos Santos after she fell from a seventh-floor window at the Rio Poty Hotel.

CCTV footage reportedly shows Renata and her boyfriend, Leonardo Augusto Pinto França, walking unsteadily along a hotel corridor at around 1:30 AM. Moments later, the lower window frame gave way as Renata leaned against it, causing her to fall.

Authorities said the couple was heavily intoxicated at the time. Her boyfriend is not currently being treated as a suspect, while investigators are examining the hotel's window structure and safety standards.
