Remittances From Overseas Indians Have gone up 12% To 100 Billion USD

The Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman has stated the contribution of Non-Resident Indians in remittances sent to India have reached to the tune of $100 billion in 2022, a significant 12% increase in a single year. 
In a session of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the minister called NRI’s “real ambassadors of India” and appealed to them to use made in India products which could help in popularizing it around the world. 
The minister also stated “This is one of the highest remittances which is coming in”, referring to the $100 billion remittance coming into the country. 
The minister urged NRI’s to partner with small and large Indian Businessmen so that their entrepreneurial skills could be harnessed in the coming 25 years to bring ‘Amrit Kaal’ of independence. 
The minister also cited the dominance of Indian professionals in fields of IT, digital technology, automobiles, pharmaceutical manufacturing and other fields making the country a global hub of knowledge and progress. 
The $100 billion remittance is among the highest in the world.
