AI Snips Google's Future Projects: Pay Cuts for Sundar Pichai & Team

Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai made the announcement during a recent town hall meeting with Google employees that the annual bonuses of all positions above senior vice president will be significantly reduced. 

Pichai did not specify the percentage or duration of the salary reduction. However, given that his compensation is dependent on the success of the business, it is likely that he will also accept a pay cut.

Sundar Pichai is an Indian-American business executive who currently serves as the CEO of Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google. Born in Madurai, India in 1972, Pichai earned degrees in metallurgical engineering and materials science from the Indian Institute of Technology and Stanford University.

He joined Google in 2004 and has held several senior leadership positions, including heading the development of the Chrome browser and the Chrome OS operating system. Pichai was named the CEO of Google in 2015, taking over from co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin.
