YouTube is making a concerted effort to keep its paying customers engaged and entice new subscribers to its Premium service. In addition to ad-free streaming, the Google-owned platform has introduced minigames for its Premium users. YouTube Playables is an innovative new feature that brings gaming to the video streaming experience.
Google initially launched the Playables feature on YouTube in September. Subsequently, the feature underwent an experimental phase. Nevertheless, it is currently accessible to YouTube Premium subscribers. This novel feature provides Premium users with the opportunity to access a compilation of online games that can be played directly on either the mobile or desktop application.
With no requirement for supplementary downloads or installations, Premium users can effortlessly indulge in 37 minigames that seamlessly blend into the YouTube experience.
As per a report from Droid Life, numerous users of YouTube Premium were notified about the introduction of Playables last week. By opting in, users can enjoy a range of mini-games that can be played directly on the platform. The report highlights that the games offered through Playables are not overly complicated or specialized, and include popular titles such as Angry Birds Showdown, Brain Out, Daily Solitaire, The Daily Crossword, and various arcade games.
However, it is important to note that the availability of these games may be limited. The notification from YouTube Premium states that the games will only be accessible until March 28th, 2024. In the meantime, Premium members can access the entire collection of games by navigating to the "Playables" section within the Explore tab.
