In August, Elon Musk, the proprietor of X (previously known as Twitter), announced the addition of video and audio call features on the platform. This comes under the theme of making X an Everything app.

As promised, they have successfully integrated these new capabilities into the iOS version of the X platform. They inform that this calling feature is exclusively available to premium subscribers.
When you update to the latest version of X, both video and audio calling options will be activated automatically. This feature is currently operational in India too.
To initiate a call on X, follow these steps:
1. Click the envelope icon (direct message feature) to access your messages.
2. Select the existing direct message conversation or start a new one.
3. Tap the phone icon and select voice or video call.
4. Tap Audio Call to select an audio call or a Video Call to select a video call.
The person you are calling will be notified, and if they do not answer, they will receive a notification for a missed call.
For an audio call on X :
- During an audio call, users can tap the audio icon to activate speaker mode.
- There will also be an option to mute or unmute the microphone. Just tap the microphone icon.
- Tap the X button to end the call.
For a video call on X :
- During a video call, users can switch between front and rear cameras by tapping the flip camera icon.
- To disable speaker mode, tap the audio icon.
- To disable the video source, click on the camera icon.
- Similar to audio calls, the microphone can be muted or unmuted by tapping the microphone icon.
- Tap the X button to end.
In a significant development, X (formerly Twitter) has introduced video and audio call capabilities, enhancing the platform's interactivity. While currently limited to premium subscribers on iOS, this feature is anticipated to significantly transform communication on X. Users can easily initiate calls through a user-friendly process. With intentions to broaden this functionality to Android, Mac, and Windows PCs, X is positioned to cater to a wider audience, solidifying its presence in the social media landscape.
