BharOS is India's first mobile operating system. It was developed by the Indian government's Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). BharOS is based on the Android Open Source Project.

It aims to provide a secure and customizable operating system for Indian users. It has been designed with the specific needs of the Indian market in mind. BharOS includes Indian language support and regional content.

It also includes several security and privacy features to protect users' data.  BharOS is open-source and can be used by device manufacturers and developers to build their own products. The operating system is available for free for non-commercial use.

The launch of BharOS is part of the Indian government's effort to promote indigenization and self-reliance in technology.
