Dyson’s new futuristic device Dyson Zone is all set to take the market by storm. Dyson has already created a disruption in the market with their hair dryer and vacuum, but now they are all set to release their first pair of headphones. Although they might come across as ordinary noise-cancelling headphones, there is much more to them. The headphone comes with a unique air purifier/visor that helps you breathe clean air.
The futuristic device, which marks its first venture into audio technology, will first be launched in the Chinese market and thereafter in the US, UK, and Singapore by March of 2023. The company also announced that the product will be available in the US for pre-order by an appointment, and shortly after this they intend to sell it online and at the Dyson Demo stores. Dyson zone is not cheap as you thought. It is priced at $949 (78,150 INR). Dyson zone will be available in Ultra blue, premium Prussian blue, and satin silver. The Prussian blue variant comes with a protective case and additional pair of accessories which also includes two sets of replacement filters.
The Dyson Zone was developed after six years of research, and it was first revealed in March this year. It is equipped with electrostatic filters and potassium-enriched carbon filters. It comes with eleven microphones, and eight of these headphones offer up to 38 decibels of noise cancellation and have active voice cancellation. Dyson also claims that the microphones can monitor the sounds of the surrounding 384,000 times per second and reduces the background noise by 38 decibels. Dyson Zone runs on a 2,600mAh Li-ion battery which can be charged in three hours. Apart from offering a good amount of clarity, the device has a battery life of 50 hours, and if the purification function is enabled, the battery life drops by four hours. Dyson Zone also consists of a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB C port for charging. It can support Bluetooth 5.0.
The air purifier in the Dyson Zone promises to absorb 99% of ultrafine particles as small as 0.1 microns and also captures other acidic gases such as Sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide. It absorbs air through a compressor, and purify it through two filters, and projects air into the user’s mouth and nose through two streams. These filters have a life span of 12 months and are not reusable.
The visor can be detached from the headphones, and the onboard sensor will automatically monitor the air quality and give you the results for it on the MyDyson app, Further, the device will automatically switch to standby mode when it is not in use, the detachable visor will turn on conversation mode pausing music and purification.
However, the specification sheet provided to The Berge by Dyson suggests the headphones with the visor attached would weigh about 670 grams. So if you are not comfortable with the heavy weight of the headphone, you will need to look out for them. Dyson has previously gained a name with its unique engineering, and once again looks like they are all set to take over the market.
