Counter Strike 2 releases Limited Testing, gamers beeline for access

Popular First-Person Shooting game, Counter-Strike has announced the launch of Counter-Strike 2 in Summer 2023. Valve revealed that a test version of the new game is available to limited users, sending CS enthusiasts into a frenzy. The new version will be launched on Steam as a free upgrade to 2012’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and promises an advance in the game's tech, especially with smoke grenades, and an update in the game’s core mechanics.

In an uncommon move, Valve is allowing users to the test version on an invite-only basis. If you want to try the new version, all you can do is hope that you receive an ‘enrol’ email from Counter-Strike giving you access to the game. The criteria for receiving an invite according to an FAQ will consider recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor and Steam account standing.

Developed by Valve Corporation, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a first-person shooter game that has been a staple in the gaming community since its release in 2012. The game features two teams, the Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists, who battle it out in various game modes such as Bomb Defusal, Hostage Rescue, and Deathmatch. With a wide range of weapons and equipment to choose from, players must strategize and work together to outwit their opponents and complete objectives.
