A record-breaking dinosaur footprint that was left nearly quite a while back by a meat-eating Megalosaurus has been tracked down on the English coast - approximately 166 million years back.
The 3-foot-long impression, found in Burniston Straight, captures the time the dinosaur was resting by the ocean side, as per new discoveries made on Thursday. The size of the impression suggests the dinosaur was most likely a Megalosaurus somewhere in the range of 8 and 9 feet high at the hip.
Researchers think it means the creature was squatting before standing up when it left the track.
The Jurassic Coast, located in southern England, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich geological and paleontological history. The discovery of a stunning Jurassic footprint could provide valuable insights into the creatures that once roamed this area millions of years ago.
