President-elect Donald Trump has officially named Scott Bessent, a veteran of the hedge fund business, to be his Treasury secretary. He called Lutnick as a visionary leader who could come and change things - according to Elon Musk, Bessent is too conventional as said, "Business-as-usual is driving America bankrupt, so we need change one way or another. While Musk's remarks generated buzz, they did not lead him to make a change that appeased Trump's choice to favor continuity over disruption.

Bessent is an appointment as part of Trump's move to build a cabinet that reflects his policies. Other picks include:
