Two injured & property Damages: J&K Earthquake Update

On Tuesday afternoon, a significant earthquake caused alarm among the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. The epicentre of the 5.4-magnitude earthquake occurred six kilometres below the surface in Jammu's Doda district. No one was killed despite the earthquake that caused cracks in several Doda homes and buildings. Two girls were hurt. Himachal Pradesh, North India, and J&K all experienced tremors.Many schools and a hospital were reportedly devastated by the earthquake, according to Doda locals. An earthquake, according to a panchayat member, damaged the hospital in the Gandoh Bhalessa sub-district. 

Buildings and residences in Gandoh, Baderwah, and Thatri have cracks, according to Vishespal Mahajan, deputy commissioner of Doda. No residents of the district have perished. There were minor wounds to two girls. All officers are on duty, and no substantial damage has been reported from any area of the district, he said.The earthquake, which measured 5.4 on the Richter scale, had its epicentre in the Doda district, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, was the location of the 5.4-magnitude earthquake that occurred on June 13, 2023, at 13:33:42 IST, according to a tweet by NCS.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, who used to be the chief minister of J&K and is now the head of the Democratic Azad Party, said that the earthquake damage in Chenab Valley was sad. It's sad that the earthquake in J&K caused damage, especially in the Chenab Valley. Azad added, "I appeal to all of my employees to travel to the affected areas and assist those who were injured or lost other possessions as a result of this natural disaster." 

Affected families should receive assistance, according to Mehbooba Mufti, head of the People's Democratic Party. Today's earthquake in Doda caused extensive damage. She hoped there would be no fatalities and that the impacted families would receive aid right away.
