Stranded by Deluge: 70 Laborers from MP's Jhabua Trapped in Dadra and Nagar Haveli Floods

In a terrifying ordeal caused by sudden and intense monsoon rainfall, approximately 70 migrant laborers and their young children found themselves stranded in severe floodwaters in Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The workers, who had traveled from Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, in search of employment, were forced to take refuge inside an industrial shed as rising waters cut off all escape routes.

• The Viral Distress Call: A heart-wrenching video recorded by the trapped workers surfaced on social media, showing families and innocent children huddled together on elevated platforms inside a flooded structure. With water swirling all around the building, the workers made an urgent appeal for evacuation.

• Origin of the Workers: According to initial administrative reports, the stranded laborers hail primarily from the Kalapipal region of Jhabua district in Madhya Pradesh.

• Administrative Action: As soon as the distress video came to light, the Jhabua district administration swung into action. The District Collector immediately established official communication with authorities in Dadra and Nagar Haveli to coordinate rescue and relief operations.

• Current Situation: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mahesh Mandloi confirmed that all 70 laborers and their family members have been accounted for and are currently safe. Teams have initiated the formal process to evacuate them from the flooded area and bring them back home securely.
