On Monday morning, Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district experienced a pair of earthquakes. The first quake took place at 5:38 am with a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter Scale, as reported by the National Centre for Seismology. Fortunately, officials have stated that there have been no immediate reports of any damage resulting from the tremors. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake's epicentre was located in the Doda region, approximately 10 km beneath the Earth's surface. The coordinates provided by the NCS indicate that it transpired at a latitude of 33.15 degrees north and a longitude of 75.68 degrees east.

The National Center for Seismology reported on Twitter that an earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude occurred on 10-07-2023 at 05:38:54 IST. Around 5:43 am, a second earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter Scale struck. The epicentre of this quake was located 8 km below the Earth's surface, specifically at a latitude of 33.15 degrees north and a longitude of 75.70 degrees east in the Doda region. Officials have reported that Doda has experienced 12 tremors of varying intensity since June of this year
