Parts of Delhi experienced a spell of rain and gusty winds, providing relief to the city's residents from the scorching heat. The minimum temperature recorded was 27 degrees Celsius, which was still three notches above the season's average. The India Meteorological Department had predicted light rain or drizzle during the day, with a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius.
The humidity was recorded at 84 percent in the morning, and the city's Air Quality Index was in the moderate category at 112. However, the rain and wind caused waterlogging, wall collapses, and uprooted trees. Eleven vehicles were damaged due to a school wall collapse in east Delhi's Dilshad Garden area.
Incidents of trees falling were reported in various parts of the city, but no injuries were reported. Waterlogging was reported near the Tata Power Limited office in northwest Delhi, and traffic was affected at several locations, including the Delhi-Gurgaon border. Congestion was also reported in various areas of the city, including Ajmeri Gate, Ber Sarai-JNU junction, and Janakpuri.
