New Delhi shakes after a 7.2-magnitude earthquake hits the China-Kyrgyzstan border

The Delhi-National Capital Region felt tremors on Monday night as a powerful earthquake with a Richter scale of 7.2 shook southern China's Xinjiang region. Around the border between Kyrgyzstan and Xinjiang, there was an 80-kilometre-deep earthquake that caused house collapses and wounds. 27 trains were halted, and operations were quickly suspended by the Xinjiang Railway Department after the earthquake. Some aftershocks were reportedly felt close to Wushi County's epicentre, according to Chinese media sources. A total of fourteen aftershocks measuring 3.0 and above were reported, with a magnitude of 5.3 being the largest ever recorded.

The Chinese government sent tents, coats, quilts, mattresses, folding beds, and stoves for warmth in addition to establishing emergency services. There was an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 that struck Almaty, the capital of Kazakhstan. It was cold outside, but people were running out of their houses and congregating outside. While there were reports of property damage and no casualties, the tremors were felt throughout Uzbekistan
