The third Indian naval ship, the INS Tarkash, has been sent to the conflict-torn Sudan to assist in evacuation efforts. The Foreign Secretary delivered the aforementioned comments at a media conference for the Ministry of External Affairs regarding Operation Kaveri, which was started by the Government of India to rescue the trapped Indians in troubled Sudan. The foreign secretary asserted that India has been in touch with the two opposing groups in Sudan and other relevant groups and has been able to evacuate its people as a result of favourable reactions from those parties because they understand that New Delhi supports a powerful advancement alliance with Khartoum..regarding the overall number of Indians living in Sudan, he said that 300 more had contacted the Indian embassy in Khartoum and that 3,100 have registered online. Also, present in Sudan is 900–1,000 of Indian Origin. As part of "Operation Kaveri," India has been busing its nationals from war zones in Khartoum and other unrest-ridden regions to Port Sudan, where they are then transported to the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah by heavy-lift transport planes and ships from the Indian Air Force.
