A high level team of cyber experts from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has been deployed to ensure the safety of the upcoming Ram Temple ‘Pran Prathista’ inauguration ceremony in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on January 22.
MHA's Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Intelligence Bureau (IB), CERT-In and other cyber experts have joined forces to safeguard the event from the cyber threats.
In response to alerts issued by the Union Home Ministry's cybersecurity wing, cautioning citizens about potential cyber threats through "malicious mobile applications" circulating on WhatsApp, a proactive measure has been taken.
The joint team is actively monitoring online activities and implementing precautionary methods to prevent potential cybercrime fraud, concerning applications promising VIP entry to the temple. The alerts emphasise the serious risk of fraud and the compromise of devices.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement of an 11-day 'anusthan' (special ritual) has heightened global anticipation of the ceremony.
The event, set to be attended by dignitaries including PM Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has invited thousands, including seers and the families of temple labourers.
Concerns about fake websites and social media scams have prompted the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust to issue warnings, urging devotees to exercise caution in their online interactions.
