Low-cost Indian airline Go First, which recently filed for voluntary insolvency, is taking legal action against engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney for $1.1 billion in damages, alleging that the company is responsible for the airline's downfall. The lawsuit seeks to hold Pratt & Whitney accountable for Go First's collapse. According to Go First's CEO, Kaushik Khona, the airline plans to pursue legal action against the engine manufacturer in multiple jurisdictions in order to seek compensation for damages. Khona stated that over the past three years, the airline has experienced over 20,000 aircraft-on-ground (AOG) days, resulting in a daily loss of approximately $55,000. He added that this amounts to a total loss or compensation that can be sought from Pratt & Whitney, of around $1.1 billion.
