Considering the continuous viciousness in Manipur, Aircraft's significant IndiGo reported extra departures from Manipur's capital city Imphal to Kolkata. Additionally, the fees for rescheduling and canceling flights between May 4 and May 7 were waived. According to the authorities in charge of the airline, "IndiGo will operate two special additional flights from Imphal to Kolkata on May 6, 2023, adding more capacity for travelers flying out of the state."
In the meantime, the loss of life in the Manipur massacre expanded to 54, authorities expressed even as informal sources put the figure at a few scores. Life got back to vigilant business as usual in Imphal Valley on Saturday as shops and markets resumed and vehicles began utilizing the streets. At all major areas and roads, the security presence, which has been strengthened by flying in additional army troops, the rapid action force, and central police forces, was clearly visible. Even though a large number of security personnel were stationed, the majority of shops and markets in Imphal town and other locations opened in the morning, prompting customers to purchase vegetables and other necessities.
However, Internet services are still unavailable, a curfew is still in effect in areas affected by violence, and security forces have been deployed throughout the state to prevent conflict after clashes between communities living in hills and plains districts began. This follows the plains dwellers' demand for a Scheduled Tribes reservation, who are primarily Meiteis and the majority. On Wednesday, the All Tribals Students Union (ATSU) Manipur held a rally in opposition to those demands, which eventually turned violent.
A few state legislatures, remembering those for the country's northeastern part, are dealing with plans to empty their residents out of the savagery hit Manipur.
