No more inactive accounts on Twitter, Elon Musk announced

With new ownership, Twitter is changing and new things are happening there. On Monday, 8 May, Elon Musk made another big announcement of purging inactive accounts on Twitter.  Musk said that, “it is necessary to remove accounts of inactive users to free up abandoned handles.”

It is in the policy that social media platforms encourage people to login and actively use it. One must log in at least every 30 days and the platform may remove an account which is not in use or which has been inactive for several days.

But again there was a question about accounts of deceased people. These accounts may be kept by their family as a memory. Some users also put their opinion on Elon Musk’s tweet; they requested to keep the historical tweets as it could be useful. Musk agreed, saying those accounts will be archived. But this decision can affect the number of followers of many accounts.

Last month, Musk gave a shocking surprise by removing all those verified blue ticks from accounts of thousands of people. Later, it changed and verified some accounts again.

Everyone is thinking about what will come next, as Elon Musk is actively focusing on Twitter.
