After much anticipation from various companies regarding tri-fold smartphone designs, Huawei has taken the lead by unveiling the world’s first foldable smartphone with a triple-foldable display. Named the Mate XT, this innovative device features a 10.2-inch screen that folds three times, allowing it to transform into a compact, phone-like form.
Price and Availability
Huawei has released the Mate XT in China, with a starting price of 19,999 yuan, which is approximately $2800 or ₹2,35,000. The phone is accessible in two extra setups: 16GB + 512GB, estimated at 21,999 yuan, and 16GB + 1TB, costing 23,999 yuan. Shipments will begin on September 20, but there is no confirmation on its release in other markets outside China.

The Huawei Mate XT boasts a 10.3-inch foldable OLED display, providing a large, immersive viewing experience when unfolded. The phone is powered by a 5600mAh battery, supporting 66-watt fast charging to ensure quick recharges.

For photography enthusiasts, the Mate XT comes equipped with a versatile triple-camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 12-megapixel periscope lens with 5.5x optical zoom.
The Mate XT’s standout highlight is its Z-shaped, triple-foldable plan, utilizing two pivots to make three isolated show zones. This design offers flexibility, allowing users to partially unfold the screen for various use cases.
