Governments have a limited amount of time to reach a worldwide agreement to halt and reverse biodiversity loss.
The COP15 biodiversity summit, which begins on Wednesday, will draw hundreds of negotiators, ministers, campaigners, and companies to Montreal to discuss ways to better protect the environment, direct more funding towards restoration initiatives, and increase global ambitions for boosting biodiversity.
A global agreement with important milestones for 2030 and 2050 is the end aim, which will put the world on a road to protect priceless ecosystems and natural resources.
