Fiery MODI VS MAMATA: War of Words
PM Modi
In West Bengal, Prime Minister Modi initiated his Campaign rally from Cooch Hegam. He directly attacked its Chief Minister and TMC.
"The alliance of Trinamool Congress, Congress, and Left are engaging in the politics of falsehood and speculation. They have consistently neglected marginalized communities like Rajbanhshis, Matuas, and Namasudras. Now, when the BJP government has introduced the CAA, they are spreading falsehoods and rumours. I guarantee citizenship to those who believe in Maa Bharati," stated Mr. Modi.
He stressed that raising India to the rank of the third-largest economy is the goal of the Lok Sabha elections. "We cannot afford a weak government in Delhi. Today, the world acknowledges Modi as a robust leader who makes bold and significant decisions. I make tough decisions to fulfil the aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians," he asserted.
Heavily criticising the West Bengal government of Sandeshkhali, he said, "The entire Bengal, indeed the entire nation, witnessed how the TMC government exerted all efforts to protect the perpetrators of Sandeshkhali.” The Prime Minister added that the crimes against mothers and sisters can only be stopped by the BJP, “The BJP is committed to ensuring that those responsible for the Sandeshkhali incident face consequences. They will be sentenced to life in prison.”
"I advocate for the eradication of corruption, while the opposition defends the corrupt. I will ensure that corrupt individuals are held accountable and that justice is served for the underprivileged. Over the next five years, we will take even more stringent measures against corruption," stated PM Modi.
In addition, he accused that the Trinamool Congress administration was impeding the execution of central programs in West Bengal.
"The TMC government here obstructs the implementation of central schemes in West Bengal... Establishing medical colleges is a hallmark of the BJP. We aim to establish a medical college in every district across the country. However, the TMC government impedes our efforts in West Bengal. Despite allocating record funds to West Bengal, many projects remain incomplete due to the TMC," PM Modi said.
Mamata Banerjee
She voiced worries that the BJP government would use the CAA to open the door for the Uniform Civil Code to be implemented. Mamata issued a warning, saying that people who registered as foreigners would not be allowed to vote and would no longer be eligible for government benefits and services.
Opposing CAA, she mentioned, "I will safeguard Bengal; as long as I am here, they won't dare to harm the people. Before elections, they cry about CAA. Remember, CAA is the head of the fish, and NRC is the tail.”
Mamata attacked the BJP at her district rally, comparing their trustworthiness to that of a poisonous snake.
"You can trust a cobra, snake charmers can even pet it, but you can never trust the BJP."
She urged the Election Commission to maintain a fair electoral environment and declared that her party, the TMC, would not submit to the "threat of central agencies." The BJP, according to Mamata, only adheres to the "one nation, one party" philosophy.
