A Historic Collaboration

This monumental Museum is a collaboration between India's National Museum and France Muséums Développement by a pivotal agreement made on 21st December 2024. The technical assistance and the best architectural works and designs will ensure that the Museum meets International standards, which are the responsibilities of the French Agency which gained fame for their Museum development and management.

This collaborative work will enhance India's soft power on a global level, says External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar while emphasizing the cultural significance of this collaboration.

Transforming Iconic Structures

The north and south blocks of Rashtrapati Bhavan, iconic British-era buildings on Raisin Hall are the key government ministries. The Finance and Home Ministries come under the North Block whereas the Home to External Affairs and Defence Ministries come under the South Block. Sir Edwin Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker were the architectural legends behind building the north and south blocks which were built in 1931. The main purpose of this project is to redesign the world-class museum by repurposing these historical buildings. It also aims to preserve the architectural grandeur while showcasing it for public engagement.
