The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is preparing to host the 44th edition of GITEX Global, the world’s premier technology and startup event, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from Monday, October 14 to Friday, October 18.
Sheikh Mohammed Highlights Event Significance
On October 13, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, took to X to emphasise the significance of GITEX. He stated, “Today, GITEX has become a group of specialized exhibitions for technology, start-ups, artificial intelligence, smart mobility, cybersecurity, and more.” He noted that over 180,000 specialists from more than 180 countries will participate in this monumental event.
Accelerating Technological Growth
Sheikh Mohammed further remarked, “Technology is growing rapidly, and Dubai is growing at the same speed. We are hosting the world in Dubai to help drive these changes forward.” This sentiment underscores the UAE’s commitment to embracing artificial intelligence and modern technologies across various sectors, aiming to position itself as a regional hub for AI innovation.
Focus on AI Collaboration
GITEX Global 2024 will revolve around the theme of Global Collaboration to Shape the AI Economy of the Future. More than 3,500 firms are expected to showcase their latest advancements in artificial intelligence, along with developments in data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things.
The upcoming edition is set to feature 6,500 exhibitors and 200,000 tech executives, creating a platform for experts to examine, challenge, and redefine digital agendas. GITEX Global 2024 is poised to achieve the highest international attendance in its history, welcoming over 400 government and digital development agencies from around the globe.
New Participants Showcase Innovations
In addition to returning participants, this year’s event will see new nations debuting their innovative technologies, promising to enrich the diverse landscape of groundbreaking advancements showcased at GITEX Global.
