Background and Education

Born in Chandigarh, India, Dhillon moved to the US with her family during her childhood. She earned her degree from Dartmouth College and later graduated from the University of Virginia Law School. Dhillon went on to serve as a clerk at the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit before founding her own law firm in 2006.

Public Recognition and Contributions

Dhillon gained national attention when she performed Ardas (a Sikh prayer) at the Republican National Convention in 2016, becoming the first Indian-American to take the stage at the event. Her political involvement continued as she made an unsuccessful bid for the chairmanship of the Republican National Committee in 2023. She also played a pivotal role in writing legal memos for the Sikh Coalition, protecting Sikhs from discriminatory profiling after the 9/11 attacks.
