Odisha Partners with Singapore Firms for Sectoral Growth

In a landmark development aimed at fostering international collaboration and economic growth, Odisha and Singapore-based organisations signed a series of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on Friday. The agreements, which focus on semiconductors, new energy, skill development, industrial parks, green hydrogen corridors, and urban development, were formalised in the presence of Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

A High-Level Visit

President Tharman Shanmugaratnam arrived in Odisha on a two-day visit aimed at exploring business opportunities across multiple sectors. His visit comes as Singapore is set to be the official partner for the Utkarsh Odisha (Make in Odisha Conclave 2025), the state’s biennial investment summit, scheduled for January 28–29.

President Shanmugaratnam received a warm welcome from Chief Minister Majhi and Union Minister Pradhan at Biju Patnaik Airport. The dignitaries later convened at the World Skill Centre in Bhubaneswar to discuss pathways to collaboration.

He visited the Vertical Transportation Lab and Travelator Lab, interacting with students and instructors.
