#GaonZaraHatKe A Daughter’s Memory Turned an Entire Village Green 🌳👧❤️

Welcome to another episode of Gaon Zara Hatke!

This is the inspiring story of Piplantri village in Rajsamand, Rajasthan, where the birth of every daughter is celebrated by planting 111 trees in her name. 🌱

The initiative began after village Sarpanch Shyam Sunder Paliwal lost his daughter Kiran in 2006. In her memory, he planted a tree, which later grew into a village-wide movement.

Along with the trees, families reportedly create an FD of around ₹31,000 for the daughter and sign an affidavit committing to her education and ensuring she is not married before 18.

What was once struggling with mining, dust and water scarcity has transformed into a greener village, with daughters at the heart of the change. 🌳💚

A daughter is born, 111 trees grow, and an entire village moves towards a better future.
