DMRC Reduces Metro Closures to 45 Stations After Court Rap; 26,000 Security Personnel Deployed

In a significant development, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has revised its restrictive security measures, reducing the number of closed metro stations from 57 to 45. This reversal follows a strict reprimand from the court, which raised serious concerns over the widespread impact of train cancellations and internet curbs on daily commuters and the democratic right to peaceful protest.

Despite the reduction in transit restrictions, security in the national capital remains at an all-time high. Approximately 23,000 central force personnel have been mobilised to assist the Delhi Police on the ground, with the total security deployment projected to hit 26,000.

The heavy deployment highlights the administration's focus on maintaining strict law and order while navigating active judicial scrutiny. Bringing you fast, accurate, and impactful civic updates remains a core commitment of the VYGR news desk.
