Absolute terror struck Jhatki village in the Bagbahara forest range of Chhattisgarh's Mahasamund district when a ferocious leopard broke into a residential home late at night. The horrifying incident began when a woman, Uttari Bai, stepped outside to use the bathroom and was suddenly attacked by the wild cat.

The leopard then aggressively forced its way into the house, attacking and injuring a total of six members of the Yadav family—four men and two women. Despite the terrifying ambush, the family displayed incredible bravery and managed to successfully trap the leopard inside one of the rooms.

Three individuals who sustained critical injuries were rushed to Bagbahara CHC, moved to Mahasamund Medical College, and eventually referred to Raipur for emergency medical care. A specialised rescue team from Raipur, alongside local forest department officials, was urgently deployed to safely extract the locked leopard.
