Delhi to receive rain in 3-4 days, Relief from heatwave: IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says that light rain is likely to fall in Delhi in the next three to four days, which could help cool things down. The national capital has been very hot, with 45 degrees Celsius being the highest temperature observed. North India has been put on red alert, and it will likely rain and be cloudy in the north-west Himalayan area, which includes Punjab and Haryana. According to Soma Sen, an IMD scientist, Punjab and Haryana should see the end of the heatwave. Starting tomorrow, there will be an orange alert in Delhi.

The highest temperature will likely be around 45 degrees Celsius, according to the weather service.
