Over 1 Million Orders Fulfilled

Goyal moreover highlighted that Zomato has as of now effectively conveyed more than 1 million suppers on trains. He attributed this achievement to the company's strategic partnership with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). This collaboration has allowed Zomato to extend its reach to train passengers nationwide.

Goyal Shares Expansion News on X

Taking to X, Goyal made the official announcement, writing, "Update: @zomato now delivers food directly to your train coach at over 100 railway stations, thanks to our partnership with @IRCTCofficial. We’ve already served 10 lakh orders on trains. Try it on your next journey."

Zomato's train delivery service is simple and user-friendly. To place an order, travelers need to open the Zomato app and enter "train" in the search bar. From there, they select the "Meals at Train Seat" option.

Travelers are required to input their 10-digit PNR number, which will at that point permit them to select the station for nourishment conveyance. After that, customers can select a restaurant, add their desired items to the cart, and choose a payment option.

Swiggy Joins the Race with IRCTC Partnership

Zomato isn’t the only player in the train food delivery market. Swiggy, another major food delivery service, has also partnered with IRCTC. Earlier this year, Swiggy began delivering pre-ordered meals to passengers at selected railway stations, expanding its service reach as it gears up for an IPO.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), established in 1999 by the Government of India, operates under the Ministry of Railways. It plays a crucial role in facilitating food services on trains, and its partnerships with platforms like Zomato and Swiggy are set to enhance the travel experience for millions of passengers.
