Bhavish Aggarwal, the founder of Ola Electric and Ola Cabs, has announced that the company is developing portable warehouses. These will serve as dark stores to support quick-commerce deliveries for the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) ecosystem.

How the Portable Warehouses Work
Aggarwal described the portable warehouses as containers that are:
- made in a factory
- easily transportable by truck
- able to connect to any type of property
- fully automated
- capable of offering three times the space of a regular dark store
Who Can Use These Warehouses?
The portable warehouses will be available to:
- Companies and brands on the ONDC networks
- Local corner shops (kiranas) to expand their product range
Ola's New Electric Motorcycles
Alongside the warehouse announcement, Ola Electric introduced its new Roadster range of electric motorcycles:
- Roadster X: Starting at ₹74,999
- Roadster: Starting at ₹1,04,999
- Roadster Pro: Starting at ₹1,99,999
Bookings are now open, with deliveries set to begin in January 2025 for some models.
Ola's Rebranding and Future Plans
Ola Cabs has been renamed Ola Consumer to better represent the group's range of businesses. The company plans to:
- Reintroduce Ola Share
- Increase partnership with ONDC
- Electrify last-mile delivery
- Launch an AI shopping assistant
- Create its own credit platform for low-cost loans
Aggarwal believes these efforts could reduce business costs by about 50%, particularly in areas like logistics.
