Go First to resume ops with some conditions, gets DGCA approval

Go First's proposal to resume operations with 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights has been given the approval of the aviation regulator, the Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA), subject to a few restrictions. This comes after Shailendra Ajmera, a resolution specialist for Go First, requested Expressions of Interest from prospective bidders. Go First, a low-cost airline that ceased operations on May 3, is going through an insolvency resolution procedure. The airline's resume plan, which calls for flying 15 aircraft and 114 daily flights, has been examined and approved, according to an announcement from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The statement read, "The acceptance is subject to the resolution of the writ petitions/applications pending before the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi & Hon'ble NCLT, Delhi."

According to the announcement, Go First may restart regular flight operations if temporary money is available and flights booked by the DGCA are approved. The regulator further instructed Go First to make sure that all applicable regulations were followed and that the operating aircraft remained airworthy. On June 28, the airline's Resolution Professional (RP) sent the restart plan to DGCA, who then performed a special examination of the carrier's Mumbai and Delhi facilities. In the press release, it was stated that "DGCA has ensured that the findings of the special audit have been adequately addressed by Go First," and that the restart plan had been changed on July 15. The flights have been cancelled till July 23 owing to operational issues, the airline reported on Thursday. The troubled airline hasn't started flying since May.
