Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, met with Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the country's Druk Green Power Corporation to build a 570 MW hydroelectric plant in Chukha Province. Adani also met Bhutan's King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck in Thimphu.

Furthermore, he praised Bhutan's efforts to improve infrastructure under the vision of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and stated his desire to collaborate in hydroelectric-related and other projects in Bhutan. He stated that

Adani met with Bhutan's King in November last year and expressed excitement about exploring prospects for the Adani Group to contribute to the green infrastructure of "one of our happy and warm neighbours".
