E-commerce behemoths Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal, and others have lately received alerts from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) for allegedly selling toys on their site without the BIS quality certification.
Due to the lack of the BIS quality seal, more than 18,500 toys were seized from Hamleys, Archies, and other retail locations.
The Center earlier revealed on Wednesday that in the previous month, 18,600 toys from well-known retailers, including Hamleys and Archies, had been seized at airports and shopping malls around the country.
This was brought on by the products' lack of the BIS quality label. Toys must now comply with safety regulations imposed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), a national standard-setting body, starting of January 2021.
