Amazon to Launch Gaming Service

Amazon has quietly debuted the Prime Gaming subscription service in the country. The gaming service will come bundled with Amazon Prime and will also allow subscribers access to a range of mobile, PC and Mac games. Users will also get access to in-game loot such as weapons, characters, skins, boosts, and upgrades, among others.

Amazon Prime is a subscription service offered by the online retail giant Amazon. It provides members with a variety of benefits, including free two-day shipping on eligible items, access to streaming of movies, TV shows, and music, exclusive deals and discounts, and more. Prime members also have the option to add on additional services such as Prime Video, Prime Music, and Prime Reading.  Many people enjoy gaming as a form of entertainment or as a way to compete with others. The gaming industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, with professional gamers and esports tournaments becoming increasingly popular.

The service currently offers games such as Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, FIFA 23, League of Legends, and DeathLoop, among others and the subscription to Prime costs around INR 1,499 for a yearly package.  The move into the gaming industry is not a surprise, as Amazon has been expanding its offerings in recent years to include more entertainment content. Overall, Amazon's entry into the gaming market could shake up the industry and provide more competition for established players like Microsoft and Sony. It remains to be seen how the service will be received by gamers and what impact it will have on the industry as a whole.
