Air India has launched a new real-time baggage tracking feature on its website and mobile application, aiming to address recent complaints about lost and delayed baggage. This initiative makes Air India one of the select few airlines globally to offer such a convenience directly to passengers without requiring any intervention from airline staff.
The new feature allows passengers to access the current location and arrival details of their baggage. "The status coverage includes all important baggage touch points where tracking technology is available, such as check-in, security clearance, aircraft loading, transfers, and arrival in the baggage claim area," the airline stated in a release.
This move is expected to significantly enhance the passenger experience, providing peace of mind by ensuring they can keep track of their belongings throughout their journey. As a Tata Group-owned carrier, Air India’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve customer service reflects its broader strategy to rebuild and modernize the airline’s operations.
With this latest feature, Air India not only addresses a critical pain point for travelers but also sets a new benchmark in the industry for customer convenience and transparency.
