Serbia restricts Indians from entering visa-free

Serbia has just announced that it will no longer allow visa-free travel for citizens of India. The Indian Embassy in Belgrade, Serbia issued a subsequent advisory that all Indian travellers visiting Serbia from January 1, 2023, must carry a visa to enter the country. With the restriction on the visa-free entry, the Serbian Government has also prohibited Indians staying in Serbia for more than 30 days. Earlier, Indian travellers holding ordinary passports and other travel documents did not require a visa to enter Serbia for up to 30 days earlier.

To apply for a visa to Serbia, Indian citizens will typically need to submit a completed visa application form, a valid passport, and other supporting documents, such as proof of sufficient funds, a letter of invitation, or evidence of travel arrangements. 

The visa application process for Serbia is generally as follows:

The specific requirements for each type of visa may vary, so it is important to determine which visa is appropriate for your trip.

Gather required documents: To apply for a visa to Serbia, you will typically need to submit a completed visa application form, a valid passport, and other supporting documents, such as proof of sufficient funds, a letter of invitation, or evidence of travel arrangements. It is important to carefully review the list of required documents and to gather all necessary materials before beginning the application process.

Submit the application: Applications for a visa to Serbia can be submitted to the embassy or consulate of Serbia in India or to the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You may be required to pay a fee as part of the application process.

Wait for a decision: The processing time for a visa to Serbia may vary, but it is generally advisable to allow at least a few weeks for your application to be reviewed. You will be notified by the embassy or consulate when a decision has been made on your application.

If your visa is approved: If your visa application is approved, you will receive your visa in the form of a sticker that will be placed in your passport. You will need to present your passport with the visa sticker at the border when you arrive in Serbia.
