The story dates back about 200 years.

Legend has it that a powerful minister demanded to marry a local girl against her will, threatening to destroy the entire village if his demands were not met.

In a mysterious turn of events, residents of Kuldhara and dozens of surrounding villages vanished in a single night.

Before leaving, the Paliwal Brahmins placed a curse on the land, decreeing that no one would ever be able to settle there again.

To this day, Kuldhara remains one of India’s most mysterious and haunted locations.
