Veranda to buy 7 edtech companies for 400 crores

The ed-tech platform Veranda Learning Solutions, based in Chennai, stated that it is buying seven companies through its entirely owned subsidiary, Veranda Administrative Learning Solutions Pvt. Ltd., for a total of nearly 400 crore rupees.

The acquired businesses include the Chennai-based Educare Infrastructure, the Coimbatore-based Six Phrase, the Talent Academy, the Talent Publications, and the Phire Learning and BAssure IT upskilling platforms. They also include the Kerala-based Talent Academy, which trains students for competitive exams.

The company claimed in a regulatory filing that the acquisition of Educare Infra would increase Veranda's access to the K–12 and higher education markets, while the combination of the Talent and Phire brands would benefit Veranda RACE, its competitive test coaching division.

The Kalpathi AGS Group established Veranda Learning Solutions in 2018, and it is a publicly traded education technology company that provides upskilling programmes through its subsidiaries, Veranda RACE, Veranda IAS, and Edureka, in addition to training programmes for competitive exam preparation for the State Public Service Commission, Banking, Insurance, Railways, IAS, and CA. Through its relationship with JK Shah Classes, the organisation also entered the field of coaching for chartered accountants.
