Google's album archive to close on July 19

Google, a global leader in technology, has announced that the Album Archive service would be discontinued. Beginning on July 19, 2023, Google users won't have access to it anymore. Those who are unaware can access and manage content from several Google products using the Album Archive feature.

"After July 19, 2023, the Google Album Archive won’t be available. Until then, you can use Takeout to download a copy of your Album Archive data. Album Archive lets you view and manage album content from some Google products within Album Archive. However, some content that’s only available in Album Archive will be deleted starting July 19. If you would like to access this data, please make a copy of this data," the tech company announced in a blog post.

Users of Google are receiving an email with the subject line "An update to Album Archive." The internet behemoth warns consumers in the email that Google Album Archive will stop working as of July 19, 2023. It is advised for users to download a copy of the data using Google Takeout. Google will simply email the recipients a download link or move the data to one of the top cloud storage services, such as Google Drive, IDrive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.
