Right on the eye of the break, Alejandro Garnacho netted a third, neatly placing the ball behind Barnsley's goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina. Soon after the restart, the Argentine winger added a fourth, with a quick counterattack. Rashford scored his second before long, showing pace and accuracy, sealing the match at Barnsley's expense.
Eriksen Secures Late Goals for Comfortable United Victory
Late on in the game, Christian Eriksen scored two quick goals to add humiliation to Barnsley. Danish playmaker Eriksen had been something of a cause for concern with some misplaced passes early in the game but seemed to get into his rhythm as the game wore on and was even responsible for an assist. United dominated well in the game and saw themselves go through to the next round of the competition without a hitch.
