Karnataka's first female Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida, and Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo will be in Majhi. Mohan Charan Majhi: The New Chief Minister

Mohan Charan Majhi, a four-time MLA from Keonjhar, is a well-known tribal leader in the BJP. He is 52 years old. He began his political career as a village sarpanch, and in 2000, he won his first Assembly race. Majhi has previously served as Deputy Chief Whip in the BJD-BJP alliance government. In the most recent polls in Keonjhar, he defeated Mina Majhi of the BJD by 11,577 votes. Majhi marks his first appointment as Chief Minister of Keonjhar, a region renowned for its abundant mineral reserves. This is a big deal.

Secretary-generals and ministers

Mohan Charan Majhi, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, and Pravati Parida took the oath of office as Odisha's Deputy Chief Ministers. Deo is a six-time MLA from Patnagarh. He is from Patnagarh's royal family and was previously a minister in the BJD-BJP alliance government. Although Parida is a new MLA from Nimapada, she has been the head of the BJP's women's wing in Odisha before. Also sworn in were eight ministers and five ministers of state (in independent charge).

BJP win in Odisha

The BJP ended the BJD's 24-year rule, led by Naveen Patnaik, by winning in Odisha. With three independent MLAs' votes, the saffron party took 78 of the 147 seats in the Assembly, making them stronger at 81. From 1998 to 2009, the BJP and BJD worked together and ran in three Lok Sabha elections and two Assembly elections. But because of a riot in Kandhamal, Patnaik broke up the partnership before the 2009 general elections. Odisha was the BJP's first election win in the East. With 20 MPs, four more than its biggest NDA partner, the TDP, the BJP now has the most seats in the state's government, making it stronger.
