Samajwadi Party's national president and Kannauj MP, Akhilesh Yadav, launched a scathing attack on the BJP government during a media interaction.
Addressing the media, Yadav pointed out the poor state of the smart city projects initiated by the BJP. "Those who promised smart cities should see their condition now. There is waterlogging and filth everywhere, accidents are happening, and vehicles are falling into pits. Health services have also deteriorated significantly," he remarked.
On Hathras Stampede
“Hathras incident was a failure of the administration,” he said
“Even when permissions were granted, adequate officials were not deployed, he said.
On Inflation
He added, “Unemployment remains rampant, and youths are still wandering in search of jobs. People are suffering from unemployment and inflation, which is being exploited by the BJP for their profit. Essential commodities like flour, pulses, and mustard oil have become expensive, as well as diesel and petrol.
On China Issue
“The government remains silent on the China issue,” the former Chief Minister didn't hold back in criticising the government.
“Newspapers are reporting large-scale land encroachments. Our border security is in jeopardy. Despite the severity of the situation, the government says nothing about China's encroachments," he said.
On Land Mafia
Akhilesh also accused BJP members of being involved in land grabbing activities. "Land mafia is thriving, and most of them belong to the BJP.” “They can’t hide behind their attire. If they can’t speak the truth, at least respect the clothes they wear," he said.
On Recruitment Corruption
He criticized the BJP for corruption in job recruitment processes, alleging that the party is undermining reservations to prevent the PDA (Poorvanchal, Dalit, and Adivasi) community from securing employment.
"Every job recruitment is marred by scams. This is happening because they don't want to provide reservations, knowing that it would benefit the PDA community," he added.
On Russian Oil Import
He further criticised the government for not using the opportunity to import oil at lower prices from Russia. "Despite having a chance to procure oil at old rates from Russia, petrol and diesel prices remain high. The BJP is making a mockery of both you and the public," Yadav concluded.
