The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Ministry of Railways, Government of India, will soon publish a notification for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP). The notification is expected in January. This recruitment is scheduled to fill around 5600 vacancies across the Indian Railways' 21 zones. The notice will also be published in the employment newspaper. Once issued, candidates will be able to review all essential job-related information, such as complete eligibility, exam schedule, curriculum, and so on.
RRB Vacancy 2024
Indian Railways is scheduled to fill over 5000 positions under CEN Number 01/2024. Vacancies will be released on a zone basis shortly. An applicant can only apply online to one RRB.
RRB ALP Eligibility Criteria 2024
Candidates applying for the position must have a 10th-grade diploma and an ITI from a recognised NCVT/SCVT institute in the trades of Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio/TV), Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Wireman, Tractor Mechanic, Armature and coil winder, Mechanical (Diesel), Heat Engine, Turner, Machinist, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic.

10th Pass with Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering Diploma
• Obtained from a recognized institution.
• Can substitute ITI
As per advertisement, the minimum age required for a candidate to apply is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years.
Method of Selection and Steps to Submit RRB ALP Application Form 2024
Candidates will be selected based on a computer-based test. The steps to submit the form are given below-
- To start process candidates must visit the official website page of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB)
- Search for the "Recruitment" section, click on the link for "RRB ALP Recruitment 2024", and read the notification to understand the eligibility criteria, vacancy, selection process, and important dates.
- Register an account or log in using existing credentials on the official RRB online application portal.
- Enter all the details including personal information, educational qualifications, and contact information, as per the instructions in the notification.
- Now upload scanned copies of the required documents in the specified size and format.
- You can pay application fee through the online payment methods given by the Indian Railways' official page.
- Lastly, Do a complete review your application for any errors before its submission.
- Pay the application fee: Rs. 250/- for Female/EBC/SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman/Transgender/Minorities, Rs. 500/- for Others.
