Indian celebrations, whether a wedding, religious event or any big function, often leave behind one common problem – Garbage.

Leftover food, plastic scattered everywhere and by the time the event ends the place is full of filth and mess.

But now an easy and practical solution is emerging. An on site waste management pit.

In this method a simple pit is prepared in advance at a fixed spot at the event venue.

Waste is put into the pit under different categories.

This waste segregation model keeps wet waste like leftover food and organic material separate which can later be turned into compost.

Meanwhile plastic, bottles and other non biodegradable waste is collected separately and sent for recycling.

This not only reduces filth but also makes proper use of waste possible.

Small efforts like this in many places have shown that events can be clean and responsible.
