In a deeply inspiring tale of talent and resilience, 50-year-old visually impaired sculptor Rampal from Basti, Uttar Pradesh, is proving that true vision lies in the hands and heart.

Having never seen the world of colours or his own face, Rampal relies entirely on his sense of touch to mould magnificent, lifelike idols of deities such as Lord Ganesha, Maa Durga, and Maa Lakshmi. Introduced to the craft by his father at the tender age of four, he dedicated a decade to mastering this art.

Today, he has crafted over 700 breathtaking idols using locally sourced field clay and eco-friendly natural dyes made from flowers, leaves, fruits, and vegetables, with his family proudly supporting his efforts. His extraordinary ability to breathe life into clay serves as a powerful reminder to believe in one's dreams against all odds. The VYGR team, bringing such uplifting, human-interest stories to the forefront, is a vital part of engaging audiences with meaningful, high-impact regional content.
